Effectiveness of Virtual Reality Simulations for Civilian, Ab Initio Pilot Training

چکیده
Aviation training in the immersive Virtual Reality (VR) world has power to overcome physical constraints, presenting cues and stimuli that would not be available flight, nor a two-dimensional (2D) environment. This gives VR powerful potential as simulation tool for learning complex skills maneuvers cockpit. study evaluated effectiveness of simulations compared traditional 2D desktop teaching ab initio (inexperienced) civilian pilot trainees. quasi-experimental project involved 17 freshman students an experimental college course at private university campus fall semester 2020. The participants were split into two sections: Section 1 completed CBT activities only, while 2 VR. Academic performance data was collected Canvas Learning Management System, broken down by understanding maneuver learned given lesson module. Descriptive statistics included quizzes, discussion board activity, completion scores. Paired samples t-tests perceived benefits using various materials. Researchers also administered post-semester surveys gather both qualitative quantitative data, which shared their perceptions course, preference material type, general feedback. Results indicated groups found sims/tutorials enjoyable gratifying; majority preferred over other Early results indicate although beneficial, there no significant differences final scores or rates between those who utilized sims opposed sims. most important finding is pilots, do hinder mastery, with simulations.

متن کاملAn Application of High Fidelity FTDs for Ab Initio Pilot Training: The Way Ahead
Decreases in simulation costs and increases in aircraft training costs led to the need for further investigation into the application of simulation-based training. Researchers conducted an eighteen-month study using ab initio student pilots as participants. This study applied a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved, Part 142, flight-training curriculum that included 60% flight training...

In conditions such as the prevalence of COVID-19, many people experience many concerns, including disease anxiety. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of case virtual reality therapy on corona anxiety. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with the control group, pre-test and post-test with random assignment. The statistical population of the present study ...
متن کاملConstructing ab initio force fields for molecular dynamics simulations
We explore and discuss several important issues concerning the derivation of many-body force fields from ab initio quantum chemical data. In particular, we seek a general methodology for constructing ab initio force fields that are ‘‘chemically accurate’’ and are computationally efficient for large-scale molecular dynamics simulations. We investigate two approaches for modeling many-body intera...
